FAQs

What should I wear to my SUP lesson?

What you wear paddle boarding depends on the weather conditions. If it is hot out, you can paddle board in a bathing suit. If it is cold, you may want to wear a spring suit or full wetsuit. Avoid wearing cotton as it takes longer to dry. Bring a towel for afterwards.

What should I wear for SUP yoga & fitness?

The most common clothing is a bathing suit underneath yoga & fitness clothing or SUP specific apparel.

Should I wear shoes and what kind of shoes should I wear?

Yes, wear shoes that you don’t mind getting wet. For lake lessons and yoga & fitness classes you will be given the opportunity to take shoes off and attach them to the SUP bungee cords. On river lessons shoes are required.

Should I bring water and snacks?

Yes, a traveling water bottle and your favorite outdoor snack.

Do I have to know how to swim?

No. We have life jackets available upon request. Please let us know beforehand if you have non-swimmers.

Am I too young, old, big or small?

Participants must be at least 7 years old and in good health to paddle solo while on instruction. This sport is for kids young and old. There are tons of stand up paddlers well over 70 years old! We have boards that can handle paddlers up to 270 pounds, so come out and join us.

What about rain, lighting and other weather conditions?

We are located in Colorado so weather blows in pretty past. If the rain is really coming down, lighting and high winds are persistent; we will reschedule or refund your lesson. If in doubt, call first. Safety always comes first!
