Everyone must have a current GJ Sup Waiver & Release of Liability Form on file to rent equipment. If the individual is under 18 years of age, the waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. This waiver will be kept on file for one year.

Lake Lessons

Duration : 75 minutes – 2 hours

An in-depth introductory lesson that will review personal preparation, board & paddle design details, paddle environment & safety, how to stand up on a board, prone paddling, range of motion exercises, bracing, how to slow down and stop a board, power forward stroke, forward and reverse sweeps.

Fitness

Duration : 1 hour and 30 minutes

This program is a multi-level cross-training program that will develop core muscles, overall strength, agility and endurance. A majority of the class will be water drills and skills. A small portion of the workout will be on land with focuses on paddle-specific exercises and functional training. Most have basic SUP paddling knowledge and skills. (maximum 8 people per class)

Yoga

Duration : 75 minutes

This class will include on land yoga teachings to prepare participants for a sequence of postures on the water. Once on the water, participants will take their yoga poses to a new level while floating and enjoying the elements around them. The core muscles will be challenged in a new way and body awareness will become paramount as natural alignment shift against the moving surface. The sensation of floating will help to alleviate stress while creating focus and motivation. (maximum 8 people per class)

Groups

Duration : 2 hours

An in depth introductory lesson that will review personal preparation, board & paddle design details, paddle environment & safety, how to stand up on a board, prone paddling, range of motion exercises, bracing, how to slow down and stop a board, power forward stroke, forward and reverse sweeps. Depending on groups ability additional advance maneuvers such as how to keep the board straight using the canted forward stroke, side slipping using draw strokes, cross stepping and stationary pivot turns may be covered.
